Our giant Odachi sword is the latest newcomer to our braided leather Japanese sword series. Our Samurai Odachi sword is fully functional and comes with a sheath. The Odachi sword, many times incorrectly referred to as a nodachi sword or no-dachi, comes with a traditional hand-braided brown leather wrap, a blackened steel tsuba and pommel along with beautiful red tassels. The sharp and tough high-carbon steel blade is mounted with a traditional copper habaki. The scabbard of our Odachi sword is made of wood and it is covered in leather as shown. The Odachi giant samurai swords high-carbon steel blade is hand-forged over hot coals, using many of the original techniques passed down through the generations of ancient sword smiths. Each tsuba and end-cap is individually hand-cast in blackened steel for functionality and ease of upkeep. A traditional solid copper habaki is hand fitted to each 40" long, 1-3/8" wide fully functional blade which attests to its authenticity.
